The Elementary School program is meticulously designed to incorporate the latest knowledge about teaching and learning as well as child development. IAS ensures that, during these key formative years, much time and energy is channeled into providing each child with the best possible foundation for future academic, social, physical, and emotional development.
The Elementary School program involves a child-oriented, hands-on, multi-sensory approach to learning. The subjects are taught in a multi-disciplinary approach. The format of instruction includes whole group, small group and one-on-one time for each child.
The activities-based approach allows teachers the time and ability to work with children who need extra support or extension of skills. Activities and lessons vary to meet the needs of all students. IAS strongly believes every opportunity should be utilized to meet each student’s educational potential. By the time IAS students complete Grade 5, they will be able to develop the necessary skills to move on confidently to the Middle Years’ program.
Children’s attitudes toward education begin to develop during these elementary school years, and IAS’s lively, activity-oriented program nurtures the beginnings of a life-long love of learning.
